Summer of NewJeans

NewJeans debuted during a scary part of my life. Everything felt so uncertain as I was going through my final year of high school. Then the group released their first song out of nowhere. No announcements, no teasers.

Packaged with a 2000's R&B sound and colorful visuals, it felt like a breath of fresh air. The song 'Attention' made me feel youthful and hopeful.

I immediately bought a copy of NewJeans debut album, the limited edition bag version to be exact.

A few months past and they released 'Ditto'. Another release that struck a chord with me. I related to the lyrics of being a hopeful romantic stuck in unrequited love. I was also obsessed with the styling, which led me to dress up with the song in mind as inspiration.

NewJeans' music helped me cope with the hard times and I am glad that their songs were able to become the soundtrack to my final moments in school.
