More Than Blood – A Lifelong Bond with My Cousin
By Mia❤
Some relationships are written in the stars, and mine with my cousin is one of them. We were born just two days apart, almost like life knew we were meant to grow side by side. From the very beginning, she has been my constant, my partner-in-crime, my person. We've shared baby bottles, schoolbooks, secrets, and dreams and now, we’re even sharing the same university journey.
Growing up with her felt like having a built-in best friend. We went to the same school, sat in the same classrooms, and walked the same hallways, always finding comfort in knowing we had each other. From whispering in class to walking home together, those memories are stitched into the fabric of my childhood. She’s the one who understood my silence, laughed at my dumb jokes, and stood by me when I felt alone.
Now, as we navigate university life together, I can’t help but feel grateful. Not everyone gets to carry a piece of their childhood into adulthood, but I do, because I have her. Whether it’s studying late at night, sharing life updates in between classes, or just having someone who truly knows me, her presence is something I cherish more than words can say.
What makes it even more special is how we’ve grown, not just side by side, but also together. We’ve celebrated each other’s wins, cried during heartbreaks, and pulled each other through our lowest days. It’s a bond that goes beyond family ties. It’s a friendship built on trust, loyalty, and a lifetime of shared memories.
Looking at where we are now, I feel proud of how far we’ve come together. She’s not just my cousin. She’s a part of my soul, a reminder of home, and one of the biggest blessings in my life. This journey wouldn’t feel complete without her.
