5 musketeers

Trust is probably the hardest thing to earn, especially with people who aren’t our own flesh and blood. But I’m really grateful to be blessed with these four clowns as my best friends. Let me introduce them one by one first. The guy in the blue baju melayu on the far left is Aziq, he’s actually my cousin. Right behind him in the dark baju melayu is Luqman. Next to him in black is Wan. And right in front, the bald one and that’s Fahrin.

We kinda got “united” by accident, actually. It all started with Wan, he was already friends with Luqman since primary school, and he also knew Fahrin because they used to be neighbours. As for me, I got close to Wan because we went to the same sekolah agama, which also included Luqman. At first, I was only hanging out with Luqman and Wan. But since Wan was old neighbours with Fahrin, and Luqman did silat with Fahrin, it all started connecting.

Then in Form 2, I ended up being in the same class as Fahrin. That’s when we actually got close. What about Aziq? He came in a bit later since he’s one year younger than the rest of us. At the beginning, I usually hung out as a trio with Luqman and Wan. But one day, Luqman asked us to chill at Fahrin’s place. I didn’t really know him back then, so I wasn’t close to Fahrin at all. But things changed during Form 2.

As for Aziq, well obviously I’ve always been close to him since we grew up together. I even brought him to hang out with Wan and Luqman back then when he was still in Year 6. And later on, he got close to Luqman too because the three of us me, Luqman and Aziq joined the school rugby team. That’s when everything connected, and the five of us became a solid group.

The photo above? That was our first photo together after 4 years of friendship.

And this photo was taken on the last day of SPM. That moment made us all feel like we were grown-ups already, even though our underwear was still being bought by our parents 😆. Aziq’s not in this one because he was still in Form 4 (typical little kid energy). At that time, we had a bunch of big plans in our heads. Go to Melaka, Genting, Desaru. In the end, only one of those plans actually happened. After that, everyone got caught up with part-time jobs except Wan. Not sure what he was thinking, but he went and enrolled in a pre-diploma program. Then on SPM result day, he ended up quitting pre-diploma because apparently his results were good enough to jump straight into diploma. He said he wasn’t confident about his results earlier (lol bro’s self-esteem level was at zero).

And this right here is our most recent photo with the full squad, all five of us. Wan’s now in UniKL, Aziq’s at Metropoli, and I’m at Unisel. Fahrin’s still working the same job he had right after SPM. Luqman just finished Form 6 not too long ago. Since we’re all on different paths now, our break rarely line up. This photo only happened because it was my brother’s wedding, and my parents invited all their families, so we finally got the chance to gather again.

Even with the occasional small arguments here and there, we’re still going strongggggggggg
