My Childhood Game: Battlefield Play4Free
By Syamil
Before CS:GO took over my life and before everyone was grinding ranked, my go-to game was something simpler, rawer, and way more memorable: Battlefield Play4Free.
I found it by chance. It was free, ran on my old laptop, and offered huge maps with chaos I had never experienced before. Tanks, jets, snipers on rooftops, the game felt like a full-scale war. And I was in it, every day after school.
I played mostly Recon. I wasn’t even that good, but I loved sneaking around Sharqi and Karkand, marking enemies, taking long shots, and panicking when someone spotted me.
It wasn’t about being the best, it was about the teamwork, adrenaline, and pure vibes.
The best part? The community. People in chat talking strategy, joking, helping each other out, even the trash talk was part of the experience.
Sadly, the game was officially discontinued in 2015, and yeah... it hurt.
No other shooter since, not even CS:GO, gave me that same free, chaotic, community-driven feeling.
CS:GO might be the best game I've ever played in my life,
but Battlefield Play4Free will always have a special place in my heart.
