A Day to Remember: My Cousin's Wedding & a Beautiful Family Reunion

 By Mia

Weddings are always special, but when it’s your first cousin tying the knot, the joy hits differently. It’s not just about the beautiful couple starting a new chapter it’s also about the love, laughter, and the beautiful chaos of family coming together again after what feels like forever.

From the moment I arrived, there was this warm, familiar energy in the air. Hugs lasted a little longer. Smiles were wider. Everyone seemed to glow with happiness  not just for the bride and groom, but because we were all finally under one roof again. Aunties, uncles, cousins from near and far  some I hadn’t seen in years all came together, dressed beautifully and carrying stories, memories, and so much love.

Seeing my cousin walk down the aisle, tears filled my eyes. Not just because she looked absolutely stunning, but because I remembered us playing as little kids, imagining our dream weddings. And now, here she was, living that dream. It was such a surreal and emotional moment  time had passed so quickly.

The reception was filled with laughter, cheerful chaos, and heartfelt toasts. But what touched me the most wasn’t just the ceremony or the decorations it was the way our family connected. It was the group photos with too many people to fit in one frame, the little cousins running around, the older folks reminiscing about the old days, and the way we all danced together like no time had passed.

It reminded me how precious family is how no matter how far we go or how busy life gets, these moments bring us back to our roots. They remind us that we belong, that we’re loved, and that we share something special that not even time can take away.

I left the wedding with a full heart, countless memories, and a deep sense of gratitude. It wasn’t just a celebration of love between two people it was a celebration of all the love that exists in our family. And I’ll carry that feeling with me for a long, long time.
