A Soundtrack Of My Life:Rex Orange County
By Mia ❤
My all-time favorite song from him is Always. It’s one of those tracks that feels like a warm hug, a reminder that even when things get tough, better days are coming. The melody, the words, the vulnerability it all just clicks. I’ve played it countless times, and yet it never gets old.
On top of that, my favorite album of his is Pony. Released in 2019, it’s the album that truly solidified my love for his music. Pony is a beautiful mix of indie pop, soul, and heartfelt lyrics that explore love, self-doubt, and growth. Every track feels intentional from the playful 10/10 to the emotional depth of Pluto Projector. It’s an album that captures what it feels like to be young and figuring life out, and I think that’s why it resonates with me so deeply.
Pony isn’t just an album I listen to it’s one I feel. Whether I’m happy, sad, confused, or nostalgic, it somehow always fits the moment. It’s rare to find a collection of songs that grows with you, but that’s exactly what Pony has done for me over the years.
Rex Orange County’s music has been with me through late-night thoughts, long drives, quiet moments, and even the best memories with my friends. It’s more than just music to me it’s a feeling, a safe space, and a reminder of how far I’ve come.
If you haven’t listened to him yet, I highly recommend starting with Always and giving Pony a full listen. You might just find a piece of yourself in the music too.
